Volleyball Wins Post-Season Awards

Just before the start of the State/District Tournament in Lake City this past week, a banquet was held to announce the members of the All-State and All-Sun-Lakes Conference teams.

Palm Beach State had multiple players named to the teams. Darlenis Medina and Natalie Faulkner were named to the All-State team as well as the All-Sun-Lakes Conference 1st Team. Hailey Hart was PBSC's lone representative on the All-Sun-Lakes Conference 2nd Team.

Additionally, Darlenis Medina was named to the All-Tournament team after the State/District tournament concluded on Saturday.

It's no surprise that Medina, Faulkner, and Hart were recognized by the state as each player contributed heavily to the Panthers' success on the court this season. Medina won numerous awards for her play this season, including defensive player of the week in the state three times and national defensive player of the week after a 50-DIG performance for the week of September 7. Faulkner was state setter of the week the same week as Medina won state defensive player of the week on September 7. Both Medina and Faulkner were the league leaders in DIGS-per-set and assists-per-set, respctively. Faulkner's totals placed her 15th nationally whilst Medina's totals placed her just inside the top-10 at 9th. Hailey Hart was Palm Beach's leader in kills for the season and finished 9th in the state in that category.

Congratulations to Darlenis, Natalie, and Hailey on their outstanding seasons.
