Women's Basketball Moves to 3-0 on the Year

Saturday, Palm Beach State College Women's Basketball finished their non-conference schedule with a 65-63 victory over Santa Fe College. Caleese Ramirez led the Panthers with 18 points. The Panthers have won their last three games.

Along with Ramirez's 18 points, Izzy Allen added 13, while Alma Danielsson scored 15. Jaliyah Spencer had nine points off the bench. Danielsson and Ramirez made four 3-pointers each.

The game was close throughout. The Panthers took an 11-point lead early in the third quarter, but Santa Fe battled back. Palm Beach State fended off the Saints' comeback rally, which included a double-double from freshman Aleisha Curry (17 points, 11 rebounds). The Saints pulled to within two points with under one second left, but the Panthers were able to run out the clock to secure the win.

The Panthers combined for nine blocks. Santa Fe shot only 35.8 percent from the field.

Palm Beach State will play their first conference home game Wednesday against ASA Miami.  The Panthers are 1-0 in conference play with an earlier road win against Indian River State. They will seek to extend their winning streak to a season-high four games.
