Women's Basketball Extends their Winning Streak to 2

Lake Worth, FL -- The Palm Beach State Women's Basketball team extended their winning streak to 2 games following a big win over the College of Central Florida Patriots.

The play between the two teams was largely even, with the Panthers trailing 19-22 early in the 2nd quarter before Angela Denis made two free throws to close the gap to 1. Central Florida subsequently lost the ball and Alma Danielsson drained a 3-pointer to put the Panthers up 24-22. Palm Beach would not trail for the remainder of the game.

Late in the 4th, Central Florida pulled to within 4, providing for some tense moments towards the finish. Izzy Allen and Ronita St. Felix were both intentionally fouled, yet both made all of their free throws, essentially sealing the victory. A last second 3-pointer by #0, Kasey Toles, inched the score closer but was largely irrelevant as the Panthers controlled the ball for the game's final seconds.

Izzy Allen and Alma Danielsson were the offensive stars for the Panthers. Allen scored a team-high 20 points while Danielsson finished with 19 -- both tallied 6 rebounds. Both were far and away the most dominant offensive players on the court. Allen did most of her damage inside the paint, all of her shot attempts came from inside the 3-point line. Danielsson, however, continues her torrid shooting from beyond the arc, she was 5-7 from downtown.

The Panthers will have a nice break, they have off until the 31st of December when they travel to St. Petersburg to take on St. Petersburg College at 3:00 pm.

The first game of the Panthers' 2-game winning streak came on Sunday against Harcum College, the 2nd game for the women during the Panther Holiday Classic.

PBSC got off to a hot start and the team climbed to a 19-15 lead after one before completely dominating in the 2nd quarter -- scoring 28 points to Harcum's 8.

The scoring was a bit more spread out as three players reached double digit point totals, while nine Panthers scored at least one basket.

Amaya Small nearly averaged a double-double, falling just three rebounds shy of the mark.
