Palm Beach Removes Interim, Norwood Named Head Coach

Following a national search, Director of Athletics John Scarpino has named Tae Norwood the Head Men's Basketball Coach.  Coach Norwood was the interim Head Coach for the 2023-2024 season.

"I would like to thank John Scarpino and Vice President Dr. Barbatis for giving me the opportunity as the interim coach, and then believing in me.  Palm Beach State is a great institution and has all the resources needed to compete for not only Region 8 championships, but national championships as well," Head Coach Tae Norwood said.

Director of Athletics John Scarpino said, "Coach Norwood is a great fit for our program. Everyone saw what he did this past season after taking over the program 2 weeks before classes started.  He led the team to a 19-11 record team and the players really bought into what his message was.  On the academic side, which is extremely import to me, the team posted over a 3.1 GPA for the Fall term.  Taking into account what he did with the teams community service projects, I am very optimist and excited to see what he will do moving forward."

Under Coach Norwood, the Panthers went 19-11, finishing second in the Sun-Lakes Conference.  Devontre Chaney, Erick Perez, and Jaiden Wynn were named Divsion II All-FCSAA/Region 8.  The Panthers won 9 games vs NJCAA Division I opponents.
