Men's Basketball Wraps Up Regular Season, #2 Seed in Conference

Coming into a season after being named the Interim Head Coach in August, Head Coach Tae Norwood has led the men's basketball team to a 19-11 overall record.  The Panthers have clinched the #2 seed in the Sun-Lakes Conference Tournament, hosted by Palm Beach State College, after going 8-4 in conference play.

The Panthers were led by Devontre Chaney and Jaiden Wynn, who averaged 15.3 and 15.8 points per game respectively.  Devontre led the Panthers in rebounding, grabbing 9.0 rebounds a game while Jaiden was second on the team with 8.2 boards a game.  Eduardo Diaz leads the team in 3pt%, making 44.7% of his 3s, with Erick Perez coming on during conference play and shooting 42.7% overall and 45% from 3 versus conference opponents.  Transfer Justin Allen contributed 11.6 points per game.

The Panthers played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the nation.  The Panthers led all DII schools with 9 D1 victories, defeating St. Pete at home and away, Miami Dade at home and in Kendall, Polk home and away, USC Salkehatchie and Central Georgia Tech in Daytona and Santa Fe at home

By being the #2 seed in the Sun-Lakes Conference, the Panthers will host #3 seed Florida Gateway at 6:30pm on Friday March 1.  The championship game, should the Panthers win, is Saturday March 2 at 3pm.  All games will be played at Palm Beach State College.
