3 Former Men's Basketball Players Competing in NCAA Tournament

Former Panthers Darius Allen, Clayton Henry, and Larry McKnight Jr. are competing in this year's Men's NCAA Basketball tournament, also known as "March Madness".

Allen represents the former Panthers playing for the team with the highest-ranked seed, #9 seed Baylor. Allen, a Junior Guard, is in his first year at Baylor. He played at Palm Beach State from 2016-2018. During his tenure, the Panthers amassed a record of 44-18. He was named 2nd Team All-Conference for both seasons he played at PBSC. During his one season at Baylor, Allen started 1 game and has been a key role player for the Bears, appearing in 13 games. He scored a season-high 6 points in an 80-53 win over Southern University on November 10. Baylor takes on #9 Syracuse on Thursday March 21. You can watch the game on truTV starting after the conclusion of #16 seed game winner/#1 Gonzaga, which starts at approximately 7:27 p.m.

Henry plays for #12 seed New Mexico State. He played for Palm Beach from 2016-2018. During the 2017-2018 season, Henry started 17 games for the Panthers averaging 10.3 points-per-game, and averaged 6.4 rebounds per game. He was then voted to the 1st Team All-Region team as a result of his spectacular season. In his one season with New Mexico State, Henry played in 34 games, starting 25, and averaged 15 minutes per game. The New Mexico State Aggies will face off against #5 Auburn on Thursday. The game starts at 1:30 p.m. and airs on TNT.

Larry McKnight played one season at PBSC, from 2017-2018. During that season, McKnight played in 30 games, starting 21. He averaged 13.5 minutes per game, 13.3 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, while shooting almost 70% from the free-throw line. For his efforts, McKnight was named to the 1st Team All-Southern Conference. McKnight transferred to North Carloina Central University where he has been a member of the Men's Basketball team for the past 2 seasons. During his first year, he played in 30 games off the bench averaging 16.5 points-per-game, and again shooting almost 70% from the free-throw line. During the current season, McKnight has started every game averaging 9.4 points-per-game, 3.4 rebounds-per-game, and shooting over 71% from the free-throw line. He scored a season-high 22 points against Coppin State University back on January 19. North Carolina Central will take on North Dakota State University in a matchup of #16 seeds on Wednesday March 20. The game starts at 6:40 p.m. and will air on truTV. The winner of that game will take on #1 Duke University on Friday March 22 at 7:10 p.m. on CBS.
