Peter Strzelecki, 5 Other PBSC Alumni Named to Opening Day Rosters

Six former Palm Beach State College baseball players were named to Opening Day rosters across Major League Baseball (MLB) and Minor League Baseball (MiLB).

Peter Strzelecki, a right handed relief pitcher, was named to the Milwaukee Brewers Opening Day roster.  A member of the 2015 Panther baseball team, Peter appeared in 8 games, pitching 28.0 innings while having a 3.54 ERA.  After his year at Palm Beach State, Peter transferred to the University of South Florida, where he pitched from 2017-2018.  He was an undrafted free agent signing by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018.  After spending a couple of years advancing through the Brewers minor league system, Peter made his MLB debut on June 2, 2022.  Peter would go on to appear in 30 games during the 2022 baseball season, compiling a 2.83 ERA in 35 innings while going 2-1.

Nick Vespi was named to the Norfolk Tides Opening Day roster.  Norfolk is the Triple A affliate of the Baltimore Orioles.  Nick made his MLB debut last year for the Baltimore Orioles on May 20, 2022 and represented Italy in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.  Nick, a left handed pitcher, went 5-0 with 1 save in 25 games for the Orioles for the 2022 season.  Nick was an 18th round draft pick of the Baltimore Orioles in the 2015 MLB Draft.

Cody Wilson, a member of the Washington Nationals organizatioin, was named to the Rochester Red Wings Opening Day roster.  Rochester is the Triple A affliate of the Nationals.  Cody, a centerfielder, made his MLB debut for the Washington Nationals on April 7, 2021.  A 2 year member of the Panther baseball team, Cody transferred to Florida Atlantic where he was a 13th round draft pick in the 2018 MLB Draft by the Nationals.

Jancarlos Cintron, was named to the Reno Aces Opening Day roster.  The Reno Aces are the Triple A affliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Jancarlos is a 2nd baseman who has worked his up through the Diamondbacks organization.  After his career at Palm Beach State College, JanCarlos transferred to Nova Southeastern.  While at Nova, Jancarlos was selected by the Diamondbacks in the 24th round of the 2017 MLB draft.  He would make his minor league debut the same season and has progressed up to Triple A.

Sam Peralta, a left haned pitcher, was named to the Charlotte Knights Opening Day roster.  The Charlotte Knights are the Triple A affliate of the Chicago White Sox.  Sam Peralta started his career at Palm Beach State before finishing up at the University of Tampa.  His succesful college career led him to being a 18th round draft choice in the 2019 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox.

Chris Kachmar, a member of the Chicago Cubs organization, was named to their High A affliate Tennessee Smokies Opening Day roster.  Another member of the 2019 MLB draft, Chris was selected in the 28th round by the Chicago Cubs.  Chris started off at Palm Beach State and then transferred to Lipscomb University.
