Baseball Ends 1 Game Winless Streak, Scores 19 Runs

Palm Beach State Baseball cruises to a 19-3 victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday.

The Palm Beach bats came out scorching, giving the team 4 runs in the 1st. Brannon Mondragon led off the game with a walk, followed by a Tristan Moore ground out, and a Sean Arnal walk. That out runners at the corners for John Rodriguez. Rodriguez hit a sacrifice fly to left, putting the Panthers on the board 1-0. After a subsequent hit-by-pitch and a walk, Caden Marsters drew a walk with the bases loaded to put the team up 2-0. Skyler Schulz then came to the plate and laced a single into center field to score 2.

With the score 5-1 in the 5th, Palm Beach would put away Massachusetts Maritime Academy with an additional 7 runs. The Panthers did all of their damage in the inning with 2 outs. With the bases loaded once again, Caden Marsters singled home Nick Fusco to extend the Panther lead to 6-1. After a Skyler Schulz walk, Andrei Juhasz beat out an infield single scoring Gavin Bogdanchik from 3rd. Brannon Mondragon then walked, collecting his 2nd RBI on the day. Tristan Moore then launched a grand slam, his 2nd home run in 2 days, capping the Panthers' scoring and extending the lead 12-1.

The Palm Beach bats were not done yet. In the 7th, Danny Martinez tripled fir the first time this season, scoring Sean Arnal who reached on a walk. Nick Fusco was then hit by a pitch, putting runners on 1st and 3rd. Gavin Bogdanchik then singled home Martinez to extend the lead 14-1. Caden Marsters then walked, forcing yet another bases loaded situation. Skyler Schulz tripled, clearing the bases and extending the Panther lead 17-1. Andrei Juhasz would ground out, scoring Schulz, ending the scoring in the 7th

While the Palm Beach bats were the talk of Saturday's game, we cannot forget about the outstanding start the Panthers received from Cody Little. Little went 7 innings, allowed 3 hits, 1 run, and struck out 8. 56 of his total 78 pitches were strikes.
