Baseball Records 3rd Shutout on the Season

The Panthers defeated A3 Academy on Wednesday, extending their winning streak to 3. Early in the season, the Panthers have already spun three shutouts, including two in the last week.

Palm Beach State got out to an early 3-0 lead in the 1st inning. Brannon Mondragon led off the game with a double and Tristan Moore walked. Sean Arnal doubled to score Mondragon. Tristan Moore would later score on a wild pitch, advancing Arnal to 3rd. with only one out, Sal Grinstead sacrificed and Arnal would score as A3 Academy took the out at first.

In the 3rd, Tristan Moore led off the inning with a walk, followed by a Sean Arnal double. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Sal Grinstead doubled to right field, scoring 2 runs.

Palm Beach would tack on 2 more in the 8th as Brannon Mondragon went deep for the 1st time this season.

PBSC received outstanding pitching from starter Mark Link. Link went 7 innings, allowed only 3 hits, and struck out 6. Link continued his recent stretch of sterling pitching. He has allowed runs in just 1 of his 5 total starts. His ERA sits at a pristine 0.91, which leads the division. Link also leads the division in wins with 4.

Hunter Youngblood finished off the final 2 innings, allowing 1 hit, and striking out 4.
