Baseball Stuns Miami Dade, Win 8th In-A-Row

Palm Beach State Baseball put the state on notice as they shut out defending state champions Miami Dade 12-0.

PBSC took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st and never looked back. Tristan Moore tripled in the Panthers' 2nd plate appearance of the game and Sean Arnal grounded out to the shortstop to score Moore.

With the bases loaded in the 2nd, Brannon Mondragon grounded into a fielder's choice but a run scored to make it 2-0. Tristan Moore smacked a ground ball to the right side of the infield that the 2nd baseman could not handle scoring Palm Beach's 3rd run on the afternoon.

Moving to the 4th, Tristan Moore once again was involved in the scoring. This time he drove in Nick Fusco on a sacrifice fly. Two batters later with the bases loaded, John Rodriguez effectively put the nail in the coffin as he destroyed a ball over the left field fence for a grand slam. The grand slam was Rodriguez's 2nd home run in two games.

Palm Beach received outstanding pitching on the afternoon from Ben Sacks and Justyn Ros. Ben Sacks received the start and scattered 4 hits over 6 shutout innings. He struck out 7. Justyn Ros finished off the game with 3 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit, and striking out 4.

The Panthers travel to Melbourne, FL tomorrow to take on Eastern FL at 4:00 pm as they look for their 9th straight win.
