Panther Pitchers Combine for 2-Hit Shutout vs. Keiser

Starter Mark Link and reliever Cody Little combined on a 2-hit shutout over Keiser University in the Panthers' 1st home game of the 2022 season.

Link, a multi-year participant for Palm Beach State, struck out 10 and walked 1 in 6 shutout innings. He brought a no-hitter into the 6th. Cody Little followed in relief and struck out 4 and walked 2 in 3 hitless innings. Panther pitching rarely fell behind in the count on the afternoon and were in control from the start of the game to the finish.

Offensively, the Panthers did most of their damage in the first few innings of the ball game. PBSC jumped out to a 6-0 lead after one. The first 5 batters of the inning reached base. Tristan Moore, John Rodriguez, and Caden Marsters doubled home runs. Brannon Mondragon and Rodriguez stole bases in the inning and later came around to score.

PBSC scored twice in the 2nd on back-to-back hits by Gavin Bogdanchik and Sean Arnal. Arnal's double in the 2nd inning was the 5th Palm Beach double in just two innings of play.

The Panthers would tack on one run in the bottom of the 3rd when a fielding error by the opposing 3rd baseman allowed Caden Marsters to score for the first time in his collegiate career.

Keiser threatened with 2 singles in the 6th, but that was all of the offense they could muster in their first matchup with PBSC this season.

Palm Beach is off until Friday when they have a home game against Scoutz Academy at 2:00 PM.
