Baseball Wins Third In-A-Row, Defeats Indian River Behind Late Heroics

PBSC Baseball earns their 27th victory on the season as they defeat Indian River by a score of 5-3.

Palm Beach took an early 1-0 lead as Dakota Gaillard led of the game with a solo home run, his 4th. Indian River stormed back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd. The first two batters of the inning reached on walk and single. With one out, visiting catcher David Hernandez tripled to left field scoring both runners. The very next batter, Mathew Restivo, singled home Hernandez on the first pitch he saw to put the Pioneers up 3-1.

In the top of the 6th, Justin Tew singled to lead off the inning. Jarret Bickel drove the first pitch he saw into the seats, tying up the game at 3-3.

the game remain tied until the 9th. Albert Espinosa led off the inning with a walk and the next two batters failed to advance the runner. With two outs and one on, Brannon Mondragon homered to break the tie, giving Palm Beach their first lead since the 2nd. That home run was Mondragon's 6th on the year.

Zach Dodson started and finished the game for the Panthers. He earns his 5th victory and improves his overall record to 5-1. Dodson tossed all 9 innings, giving up 8 hits, 3 earned runs, and struck out 1. Outside of one inning, Dodson was largely untouched.

The Panthers travel back to Palm Beach for the 2nd game of the 4-game series against Insian River State College. First pitch starts at 3:00 ET.
