Baseball Completes Double-Header Sweep Over Hagerstown CC

Panthers baseball improves to 17-4 after two wins over Hagertown Community College on Saturday afternoon.

In game #1, Palm Beach fell to a score of 3-1 before before plating 7 runs over the game's final 3 innings to clinch the victory.

In the top of the 5th and the Panthers trailing 3-1, newcomer Armani Davis singled home Gabriel Cruz and Thomas Diaz to tie the game at 3-3.

With the game tied at 4-4 in the 7th, Tristan Moore plated Jarret Bickel to put the Panthers up by 1. During the next at bat, Armani Davis would score on a wild pitch and Brannon Mondragon plated one more run on a sacrifice fly putting the Panthers ahead 7-4. Tristan Moore would later score on a passed ball for the team's final run on the afternoon.

Trace Moore earned the victory for the Panthers. He improves to 3-1 on the season. He finished with a final line of 6 innings pitched, allowing 3 earned runs on 9 hits, striking out 9. Jimmy Wilson pitched a scoreless inning in relief to end the game.


In game #2, PBSC won on a walk-off by Billy Poure. In the bottom of the 7th, Gabriel Cruz singled but was thrown out trying to steal during the next at bat. Brannon Mondragon was hit by a pitch, which put a runner on with 2 outs for Billy Poure. Poure drove the first pitch he saw into the gap in center and doubled home Mondragon winning the game by a score of 6-5.

Gabriel Cruz led the team with 3 hits. Cruz, Mondragon, and Jarret Bickel reached base 3 times.

The story of the game was the extremely efficient pithing by Palm Beach. Palm Beach pitchers combined to allow just 1 hit over 7 innings. Guillermo Garcia earned the win in relief, pitching a scoreless 7th inning. He evens his record at 1-1.
