Pioneers Continue to Roll on the Road

LAKE WORTH, FL - Indian River State College wins there 7th game in a row Tuesday against Palm Beach State with a final score of 10-2. The Pioneers opened the scoring in the second after a Brett Patten groundout scoring a run.  In the top of the seventh Indian River scored five runs on two hits. Jassiel Valbuean hit into a fielders choice that scored a run, Brett Patten and Raul Feliz both hit singles that scored runs and Vincent Samuel had a sac fly knocked in a run as well.

Freshman right handed Lucas Glendinning earned his second win of the year putting up all zeros in three innings of work while striking out three. Six other pitchers threw for the Pioneers combing for six innings, two runs, three hits, and five strike outs.

Patten drove in five runs on three hits to leading the Pioneers in RBI's. Indian River collected 12 hits in the game. Diego Alana had two and Aj Hunerburg, Jassiel Valbuena, and Matt Rubin all had extra base hits. The Pioneers were good on the bases as well adding four stolen bases.

Pioneers open up Citrus Conference play Thursday at Mike Easom Field against Daytona State at 2:30 pm.
