Beach Volleyball Goes 2-2 at SMC Invitational
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – The Richard Bland College beach volleyball moves to 13-3 overall, 2-0 in conference play after traveling to Spartanburg Methodist College over the weekend for the SMC Invitational. The Statesmen took on the hosts, Wake Tech, defending national champions Palm Beach State, and Huntingdon College.
On day one, in dual one, the Statesmen pairs defeated the Pioneers of Spartanburg Methodist, 5-0.
Pair 1: Sarah Heath and Alexis Scipione defeated the Pioneers 21-12 and 21-9.
Pair 2: Leilani Goggin and Aubrey Hyndshaw defeated the Pioneers 19-21, 21-12, and 15-10.
Pair 3: Morgan Green and Jordan Schlageter defeated the Pioneers 15-21, 21-17, and 15-9.
Pair 4: Peyton Ostenson and Phoebe Heath defeated the Pioneers 21-13 and 21-12.
Pair 5: Addison White and Kiley Pickett defeated the Pioneers 21-12 and 21-19.
On day one, in dual two, the Statesmen pairs defeated the Eagles of Wake Tech, 5-0.
Pair 1: Sarah Heath and Alexis Scipione defeated the Eagles 21-17 and 21-19.
Pair 2: Leilani Goggin and Aubrey Hyndshaw defeated the Eagles 21-13 and 21-15.
Pair 3: Morgan Green and Jordan Schlageter defeated the Eagles 14-21, 21-16, and 15-10.
Pair 4: Peyton Ostenson and Phoebe Heath defeated the Eagles 21-13 and 21-3.
Pair 5: Addison White and Marisa Dunnavant defeated the Eagles 21-13 and 21-12.
On day two, in dual three, the Statesmen pairs fell to the Panthers of Palm Beach State College, 1-4.
Pair 1: Sarah Heath and Alexis Scipione fell to the Panthers 17-21 and 14-21.
Pair 2: Leilani Goggin and Aubrey Hyndshaw defeated the Panthers 21-17 and 21-18.
Pair 3: Morgan Green and Jordan Schlageter fell to the Panthers 15-21 and 5-21.
Pair 4: Peyton Ostenson and Phoebe Heath fell to the Panthers 13-21 and 12-21.
Pair 5: Addison White and Kiley Pickett fell to the Panthers 22-24 and 13-21.
On day two, in dual four, the Statesmen pairs fell to the Hawks of Huntingdon College, 2-3.
Pair 1: Sarah Heath and Alexis Scipione defeated the Hawks 14-21, 21-16, and 15-9.
Pair 2: Leilani Goggin and Aubrey Hyndshaw defeated the Hawks 21-19, 17-21, and 15-13.
Pair 3: Morgan Green and Jordan Schlageter fell to the Hawks 9-21, 21-16, and 13-15.
Pair 4: Peyton Ostenson and Phoebe Heath fell to the Hawks 18-21 and 12-21.

The Richard Bland College beach volleyball team next travels to Catawba College on Wednesday, March 13th for a doubleheader dual. The Statesmen will take on Catawba College at 1pm and Carson-Newman at 3pm.
