Volleyball Defeats Florida Gateway in Three Sets

Palm Beach State Volleyball wins their 9th game in conference play as they improve to 9-4 in the Sun Lakes Conference.

The 3-0 victory was capped off by an impressive 3rd set comeback. After trailing the entire set, and at one point with Florida Gateway up by double digits, the match seemed poised to move to a 4th set. Yet, the "cardiac cats" do not quit. Down to a set point, the Panthers never let the visiting Timberwolves get the elusive 25th point needed for the set win. Palm Beach would come back to win the set 26-24 on Dena Otte's kill to seal the match.

Dena Otte and Rita Gonzalez Cuevas Campos were the stars on offense for the Panthers on Friday night. Both finished with 12 and 11 kills, respectively -- far and away the leaders on the club.

Natalie Faulkner continued her string of solid play with another 30+ assist day.

Darlenis Medina once again led the team with 28 DIGS. Currently she leads the region in DIGS-Per-Set.

Palm Beach has a quick turnaround as they play Florida State College at Jacksonville at noon in the Elisabeth Erling Gymnasium on the Lake Worth campus.
