Women's Basketball Volunteers on Veterans Day

Lake Worth, FL -- On Veterans Day, the PBSC Women's Basketball team honored members of the United States military at Golden Corral. The Panthers and the PBSC Drumline showed their appreciation during Golden Corral's annual Veterans Day event where military personnel are honored with a free meal. There were a long line of veterans at the event throughout the entire evening.

Golden Corral hosted their 19th annual Military Appreciation Night, which honors all active and retired military members. The Panthers were honored to meet, shake hands with, and thank a large group of veterans. At the event, there were veterans who served in World War II, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

Head coach Maureen Smith described the experience as an honor and a humbling opportunity for the team to personally thank members of the US military, stating, "Very proud of our Panthers for supporting those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom."

The Panthers Women's Basketball team will travel to Daytona this weekend to participate in the Daytona State Classic. They will face Trinity College on Friday, November 15 at 3:00 PM. Saturday, they will play against the Hillsborough Community College Hawks at noon. Palm Beach State will host the Hawks in a rematch Friday, November 22 at 5:30 PM.
