Martin McCann Named to Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team

Lake Worth, FL -- Head Men's Basketball Coach Martin McCann has been named to the Under Armour "30-Under-30" Team as presented by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

The award is presented to the most promising coaches that have achieved a high level of success before the age of 30. McCann is one of the very few Junior College coaches to to win this award; in fact, this is the first year a Junior College coach has been named to the "30-Under-30" Team.

Add another award to top off a banner year for McCann and Palm Beach State Men's Basketball. After posting a 21-9 record and a Southern Conference Championship, McCann was named Southern Conference Coach of the Year by his peers.

Since taking over the program, McCann has posted four 20-win seasons and averaged 22 wins per season. He now has 109 career victories at PBSC and earned his 100th victory at the college on January 2, 2019; a 90-68 win over Florida State College at Jacksonville.

McCann has produced 31 All-Southern Conference players, including his first All-American, and Conference Player of the Year, in Sophomore Guard Malik Curry. 21 players under McCann's guidance have moved on to NCAA Division I including three that played in this year's NCAA "March Madness" Basketball Tournament. Additionally, five former players are playing professionally.

The NABC began presenting the Under Armour "30-Under-30" award in 2016. The NABC consists of over 5,000 college coaches that promise to uphold the four "core values" of the organization; "...advocacy, leadership, service, and education".
