Panthers Earn 6th Straight Win

With a win over ASA College (Miami) on Friday afternoon, Palm Beach State Baseball earned their 6th straight win.

Palm Beach received great pitching on the afternoon, as starter Mark Link put up zeroes in his 6 innings of work. The veteran right-hander allowed 6 hits and struck out 3. Hunter Youngblood finished the game's final 3 frames and nearly preserved the shutout.

PBSC got on the board in the 3rd on a Tristan Moore single that scored Brannon Mondragon.

Palm Beach would score 4 more in the 3rd. With two outs, Sal Grinstead and Albert Espinosa reached via a walk and a hit-by-pitch to put a runner in scoring position. Nick Fusco doubled home Grinstead and Espinosa. Justin Tew launched a ball into the gap that the left-fielder and center-fielder collided on, allowing Tew to cross the plate for an inside-the-park home run. Fusco would come around to score on the Tew home run as well.

The Panthers would add one more in the 8th as Albert Espinosa scored on a passed ball.

With two outs in the 9th, ASA finally cashed in. A single, walk, and a double would score 2. The final batter of the game popped out on the infield to end the threat.

Offensively, the Panthers were a bit muted compared to recent games, but were led by Brannon Mondragon who was a perfect 4-4.
