Baseball Defeats Eatern Florida in Come From Behind Victory

Lake Worth, FL -- Baseball comes back from a 5-0 deficit and score 6 runs in the 7th and 8th innings to defeat Eastern Florida.

One could certainly describe this games as a tale of two games -- the Panthers' bats were largely silent against former top Major League Baseball draft pick, Carter Stewart. Stewart was dominant in seven innings of work. He struck out 8, walked 1, and gave up 1 run which came in his last inning of work. He moved his plus fastball inside and out, up and down in the zone, and gave Panther batters fits all afternoon. His plus slider wowed a contingent of roughly 30 scouts in attendance. However, once Stewart was out of the game, the Panther bats came to life.

Moving to the bottom of the 8th with the score 5-1 Eastern Florida, Joe Smith would lead off the inning with an infield single but was injured on the play, David Munoz would pinch run. Jisjar Clotida walked and Ray Sanchez would sneak a ball between the right side of the infield to drive home Munoz. Gabriel Marinez attempted a sacrifice bunt, but the bunt was so good, it turned into a single; the bases were loaded for Ricky Neyman. Neyman would not disappoint -- he crushed a 1-1 fastball over the right fielder's head for a 3-RBI triple to tie the game at 5. With the infield in trying to prevent the go-ahead run, Reid Ziztelberg ripped a single over the shortstop to score Neyman, giving the Panthers their first lead of the day.

Tom Green, who came on in relief of Shane Roberts, pitched 3.1 shutout innings, giving up only 1 hit. He earns his 5th victory.

The teams will matchup again on Friday, this time in Melbourne, FL. The game begins at 4:00.
