Baseball Scores 17 Runs In Blowout Victory

Lake Worth, FL -- Panthers Baseball scores 17 runs on 17 hits against Keiser JV.

Jisjar Clotida, Jefrey Encarncacion, Gabriel Marinez, and Ray Sanchez belted 3 hits each, leading the way for the Panthers.

With the Panthers trailing 1-0 in the 1st inning, a Noah Orlando RBI groundout and a Ray Sanchez RBI single put the Panthers on top 2-1. 

Jisjar Clotida singled on a groundball through the right side of the infield to increase the lead, 3-1.

With the score 3-2, Palm Beach broke things open in the 4th. 8 runs crossed the plate in the inning. Jisjar Clotida led off the scoring with an RBI double to left field. He would later score on a throwing error by the shortstop. Joe Smith and Noah Orlando singled back-to-back, both advanced a base on the throw. After a Mason Doolitlle walk, Joe Smith would score on a wild pitch, advancing Orlando to 3rd. Gabriel Marinez roped a groundball just over the 3rd base bag to double home 1 runner; the score was now 7-2. With runners at 2nd and 3rd, Mason Doolittle was lifted for pinch runner Tal Erel. Ray Sanchez would singled to right field scoring both Erel and Gabriel Marinez; the score was 9-2. Jefrey Encarnacion grounded to first base and the ball was stopped by a diving play by the first baseman, who then flipped to the pitcher, but the pitcher could not hang on allowing Ray Sanchez to score. With the bases now loaded, Joe Smith was hot by a 3-2 pitch to score the Panthers' 11th run of the game.

In the bottom of the 5th, Reid Zitzelberg doubled to center, scoring 2, which increased the leas 13-2.

Gabriel Marinez doubled home 2 runners in the 6th and Ricky Neyman blasted his 1st collegiate home run to end the Panther scoring on the day, 17-2.

Max Charnin got the start and earned his 2nd collegiate victory. He tossed 5 innings, allowed 2 runs (0 earned), walked none, and struck out 3. He threw 38 strikes out of his 55 total pitches.

Niko Leontarakis relieved Charnin and pitched the final 2 innings -- both scoreless, striking out 4.
