Panther Baseball Drops Series to Eastern Florida

Palm Beach Baseball dropped their second straight game to Eastern Florida. The Panthers took one game out of the three game set.

Eastern Florida took an early lead, in inning #1, on an RBI single by JD Stubbs.

The Panthers would answer back in the top of the 4th on an Andrew Martinez RBI groundout.

With 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th, Eastern Florida's Seth Lugo put his team ahead by a score of 2-1 with an RBI single.

The Panthers, however, would answer back in the top of the 6th. The first 5 batters would reach. With the bases loaded, Andrew Martinez would walk to tie the game a 2-2. The next 2 batters went down, stranding the bases loaded. This proved to be a turning point in the game and gave Eastern Florida some much needed momentum.

That momentum carried into the next half inning, as Eastern Florida scored 2 runs on a Panther error to take a 4-2 lead. They would not look back.

With 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th, Alejandro Rodriguez would score on an error by Catcher Mason Doolittle to extend the lead to 5-2.

The Panthers loaded the bases in the 9th, but could not hit with runners in scoring position, ending the game with a final score of 5-2.

6 different Panthers had hits. Andrew Martinez led the team with 2 RBI. Shane Roberts (1-2) took the loss allowing only 2 earned runs over 7 innings.
