Baseball Wins 1 Game "Series" Against Bay College

Lake Worth, FL -- Panthers' Baseball snapped a two-game losing streak in impressive fashion, 11-1 over Bay College. This improves PBSC's record to 14-9.

The game remained scoreless until the top of the second inning, Bay College took the lead on an RBI single. That is the only time the Panthers would trail all game. In the bottom half of the inning, Ray Sanchez would tie the game at 1-1 with a solo home run, his third of the year.

The score remained 1-1 until the bottom of the fourth. The Panthers scored three runs to take a 4-1 lead. Tal Erel started the inning with a leadoff single, Joe Smith, attempting a bunt, singled to the pitcher, and Gabriel Marinez doubled to drive in one. Noah Orlando recorded an RBI groundout to put the Panthers up 3-1. Mason Doolittle would then single home the Panthers' last run of the inning.

With the game firmly in hand, the Panthers scored five in the bottom of the seventh to seal the deal. Gabriel Marinez singled on a bunt to the third baseman. Mason Doolittle singled to bring in Marinez. Reid Ziztelberg would later single to bring in one run, which increased the Panthers' lead to 7-1. Andrew Martinez then hit a "seeing-eye" ground ball down the third base line for a 2-RBI triple. Nick Tiano singled home another run. The inning would end one batter later.

The Panthers eventually won via the "10-run rule" in the bottom of the 8th on an errant throw.

Max Charnin got the start for the Panthers and flashed well above-average command and poise. Charnin did not walk a batter, allowed one unearned run, and struck out 3. He improves his record to 1-0.

Niko Leontarakis came on to pitch the eighth, recording a scoreless relief appearance.

The Panthers will travel to Melbourne, FL on Wednesday to take on Eastern Florida State College. They look to improve their record to 4-3 in conference play.
